The school has over 1,500 students, 39 full-time or part-time teachers, and 4majors. It has built up three provincial-level excellent courses in Upper-air Meteorological Detection, Land Meteorological Detection and Basics of Meteorology. There are 20 on-campus training rooms and 32 off-campus training bases. It has won one second prize of national vocational education teaching achievement and two first prizes of Gansu vocational college teachers' teaching ability competition in 2019. In 2019, the professional group with applied meteorological technology as the core was listed as the construction plan of "High-level Professional Group with Chinese Characteristics" by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.
